Hello All:
The Friends of the DR Marching Band Board has voted to create a new position, Gillette
Fundraiser Coordinator(non-board position), available to anyone over the age of 18.
This position is a paid position to the person who puts in the work to make sure that our commitments to Gillette are scheduled, met and fully staffed the day of an event.
This person will be responsible for getting the schedule, asking for and scheduling the proper
people to be at each event,advising and communicating with the FODRMB President and Gillette Stadium people,delivering parking passes and finally verifying attendances.
This person shall receive 4%of the total Gillette revenue for the year ($30,000 potential=$1200) paid in
2 installments one Dec 1st of 2012(for half the total at that time) and the 2nd at the conclusion of the season (football playoffs) and will be in the amount of whatever the final numbers work out to be for the season.
This position is being created in response to what I and the previous coordinators have had to do to raise money for the kids and band operations in the past. As President I took this responsibility on this year in order to completely understand and divulge the needs and responsibility of this position. It is not an easy position. It takes time to do it right, to make sure we have met our commitments, to deal with last minute cancellations and other issues that arise. Having said all this, I am not interested in taking on this position for the 2012 season as my other band responsibilities are too time consuming as it is.
Gillette is our largest and most important fundraiser. It gives the Friends the needed funds
to properly fund the band’s operational needs. The average cost of running the band is $25,000 and that does not include extra trips like Disney. It is for buses that the school does not pay for, food and water, instrument repairs and other operational costs of the band.

The board will select the applicant best suited for the position. This position is open immediately as the the spring events are only 3 months away.I will finish thru the playoffs for the patriots and will spend the needed time to train the new Gillette coordinator.
